In stores everywhere sweaters and boots are beginning to make their first appearances. It's all so exciting, but how do you transition into fall without feeling like you are swimming in the lake of fire? One way is to pay attention to the material your clothes are made of. There is a huge difference between a wool sweater and a cotton one. Stick to lighter fabrics such as cotton, linen, or anything that feels breathable. Secondly, it is okay to season mix. By that I mean you can totally rock a long sleeved top with a pair of casual summer shorts, like I've shown above. Lastly, stick to neutrals. Fall collections typically don't feature a ton of hot pinks and blues. Keep it simple and you will instantly feel more fall ready.
It amazes me how fast this summer has gone by. It feels like just yesterday I was walking the streets of Florence and sipping cappuccinos. This summer was incredible, but I am so excited about my Junior year...whoa I feel old now. Every year brings new opportunities and adventures and I am more than excited about what this year will bring! Unfortunately I am the kind of person that thinks they can do it all, but the older I get the more I realize that is impossible and frankly exhausting. Life is too short not to enjoy the way you spend your time. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and redefine what is important to you. I invite all of my readers to do the same, and let fall be a new start. If that means joining that club you always thought might be fun, or even changing friend groups. Changing up your routine can be scary, but then again it could also be the best thing you ever did. I will leave you all with a verse this week. I hope it will provide you with joy and comfort!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
