Summer is dominated by bright colors, so your closet most likely contains one or two bright colored pieces you might be having a hard time letting go of. Well I get it, bright colors are fun and they make us look tanner, so why not wear them for just a little bit longer? Transitioning brighter colors into fall is all about layering and neutralizing. I have never been a huge fan of jean jackets, I've always felt they looked very 90's (apparently 90's are back), but for what ever reason I am all about them this season. A solid, muted colored jacket or sweater is a good place to start. First of all it's practical, hello it's getting chilly now, and second of all it allows your bright colors to seem like a "pop" of color and no longer be the focal point of the outfit. The next thing is to wear fall forward footwear. Boots, booties, suede flats/loafers all of these suggest fall outfits and once again makes your bight colored ensemble all about the "pop" Lastly accessorize for the season. I simply traded my pearl jewelry in for a scarf and leather strapped watch.
This is the last post in my "summer to fall" series, and I hope you've enjoyed it! After reading these I challenge you to go to your closet and see what you can recreate! Fall is my favorite season, and I tend to get a little crazy when it comes to shopping but it's important to remember there is more to life than clothes and outfit repeating is actually a good thing. One of my favorite quotes comes from J.Crew and it says, "A repeat outfit is just a well-earned encore." So despite Kate Sanders, yes I did make a Lizzie Mcguire reference there, it's okay to be an outfit repeater! I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed week!
